12 Days Before Christmas
(Read with the cadence of the 12th verse of the famous poem)
On the 12th day before Christmas,
with love to pick up me
Twelve kilometers driving,
Excited joyful praising,
Thru gates a-rejoicing,
New children - dancing,
God’s grace a-mazing,
His goodness flowing,
Staff in love serving,
Joy forever rings,
Our heart believes,
The Lord reigns,
Thru donors' kindness,
So many children He has set free!
"(Zaburi ya Daudi) Mwenyezi-Mungu ni mwanga wangu na wokovu wangu, ni nani nitakayemwogopa? Mwenyezi-Mungu ni ngome ya maisha yangu, sitamwogopa mtu yeyote." (Zaburi 27:1)
("A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?." (Psalm 27:1))

Fabulous Finishers of Form Four
The Sonshine family celebrates the achievements of Venance and Upendo in their completion of Form Four. (This is the equivalent of High School graduation in the United States.) As they await their very important national exam results, we share with you the wonderful recognition each received at the presentation of their certificates. Upendo was honored for the characteristic of discipline and, Venance received the recognition of being the hardest working. Venance feels strongly drawn to serve in the military as a leader. Upendo intends to apply her great discipline and drive to become a doctor. You will enjoy reading a letter of gratitude that Upendo wrote to Sonshine supporters and leaders. They both had great peace in taking their exams and continue with confidence in the results being good. Mr. Hard Worker Venance was asked what he might have done differently know that he is finished. His two-words were "more effort". Congratulations fabulous finishers of Form Four.

Arusha Children's Platform
Two shining Sonshine leaders have been elected to serve on the Arusha Children's Platform. Samson (18) is Vice Chairman and Grace (14) is Mobilizer/Influencer. The Children's Platform operates to bring unity, awareness and transformation of children who live in children's homes in the Arusha Region.

A Year of Transformation
Between the start of January 2025 and the end of March 2025, Sonshine was able to rescue 26 more children from very dangerous and dire environments in the Arusa region of Tanzania. The depth of despair is difficult to describe. Seeing the hope and health and vibrancy of lives being healed and restored is a daily delight to staff and visitors. We asked the 26 children that joined the Sonshine family in 2025 what they thought about their new home.
The answers to the four questions above are inspiring to see.
