Come before His presence with singing
In the Bible, Psalm 100 begins with the encouragement that all the earth make a joyful shout to the Lord! The psalmist invites us to serve the Lord with gladness and to come before His presence with singing. At Sonshine, the invitation to praise and worship is enthusiastically extended with an outcome that transforms all who participate. When you visit Sonshine, you will treasure the experience of worshipping the Lord freely with the children. Pictured above is Junior on the keyboard and Samson on the drums leading a time of worship in the current chapel room in the Sonshine building named Nyumba Ya Sifa (House of Praise).
Your future visit to Sonshine may see you joining the full Sonshine family with many guests in the soon-to-be-completed, new Pavilion building. This exciting project, when finished, will allow for a significantly larger, new chapel space for worship services, ongoing outreach ministry, and practice. It will also allow for a reconfiguration of the current chapel room into a room that will accommodate 16 more children to be rescued, restored, and raised up to be Godly, world-changing leaders. In these Sonshine children are all the riches of God's gifting as worship leaders, musicians, singers, dancers, technicians, artists, teachers, preachers, evangelists, administrators, and all-around ministers of God's love and fullness.
Thank you sponsors and donors and partners for your ongoing prayer and support of God's purposes through Sonshine Ministries in Tanzania. It is with your help that we are able transform lives together to change a nation and world. "Mungu awabariki kwa utajiri wake katika Yesu Kristo!" (May God bless you with His riches in Jesus Christ.)
An Exciting Evening
Sonshine's 20th Anniversary Fundraising Dinner
Thank you to all who attended and helped support the 20th Anniversary Fundraising Dinner on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Rock Creek Country Club in Portland, Oregon USA. You made it great fun and a big success. A target of raising $50,000 in annual funding was achieved and Sonshine is now closer to meeting its ongoing, monthly expense of rescuing abandoned and orphaned children in Tanzania and raising them up to be Godly, world-changing leaders. We believe that the remaining gap of $1,850 per month will soon be met to God's glory.
The live video connection with Tanzania during the event was inspiring. It was an incredible experience to join the children live on their early Sunday morning for praise and worship in their chapel room. Hearing from Home Manager Steve, the children, volunteer guest Lilly, and Sonshine partner Elizabeth was very uplifting. The hardest part was ending the video connection after all the waves and smiles and expressions of love on both sides of the screen. We were all deeply touched.
If you were unable to make it to the dinner and you'd still like to make a contribution, you can donate directly through this link.

A follow-up letter of love from Lilly
(Lilly from Texas, USA volunteered at Sonshine in King'ori, Tanzania in September through the beginning of October. She shares a follow-up note with all of us below.)
"There are many favorite memories to share about my month-long, volunteer trip to Tanzania to serve at Sonshine Ministries. While I was there, the children would often enjoy tapping on the screen of the Apple Watch I wear on my wrist to see it light up. When the children excitedly pointed at my watch, I would share with them that there is no material possession on earth that can bring satisfaction and joy the way that Jesus does. Although someone might think a watch is cool or interesting, there is no object that is greater in value than salvation in Jesus and a relationship with Him. The most precious thing we can ever have is the Holy Spirit in us. This is something the Sonshine children know
well. They each exude the joy of the Lord. My visit to Sonshine brought this important reminder to me - that no earthly possession can satisfy my soul like the Lord. Along with walking with the Lord, loving and serving others brings me great joy.
